What you get

  • Your professional identity

A short written read of how you work, built from your CV and your answers.

  • Three families, honestly rated

Each one is rated Direct fit, Bridge or Stretch, never a percentage, with why it fits, the case against it and what the quiz cannot know yet.

  • The AI toolkit for your closest role

AI tools matched to the weekly work of that role, with what each one replaces and a first step for this week.

  • What AI changes in that role

What AI is absorbing, what stays yours, and your move.

  • One direction to test

Pick a role and one of two reality tests, choose a day and record what happened. Each test can be started and judged within seven days.

  • Live remote jobs

The remote roles currently listed on YAGO Jobs in the family you pick, so you can test your direction against real openings.

What the questions look like

One real question from the quiz. Most questions have answer options, and each is picked from your earlier answers. Two are written answers.

A question from the quiz
Think of the best week of work you have had in the past year. What made it good?
I want to see what fills you up when nobody is choosing for you.
Pick up to 2
  • I had uninterrupted time to untangle one hard problem end to end.
  • I spent the week talking to people and unblocking them on the spot.
  • I kept five things and several people on track, and it all landed on time.
  • I delivered something people could see and use by Friday.
  • None of these

The two written questions ask what you enjoyed most and would rather do less of, and what work you would choose if nothing were holding you back.

What a result looks like

A made-up example of the format. It is not a real person's result.

Example, not a customer result
Identity
You are at your best when you turn other people's problems into a clear next step.

Why it fits
Your CV says you handled escalations for enterprise accounts, and your best week was one spent unblocking people.
The case against
You also said you like long stretches of uninterrupted work, and this family is mostly conversation.
Not known yet
Whether you would enjoy the pace of a support queue rather than a smaller set of accounts.
Reality test
Ask a customer success manager if you can listen in on two customer calls, and write down which parts you would want to do yourself.

How the fit is decided

Fixed rules rank the families, not an AI. Each answer moves you along twelve work-style signals, such as analytical, people-helping or organizing, and every family and role has its own weighting of those signals.

Your CV counts as evidence. Passages that show the work of a family raise its rating, and the family of your latest job title gets credit for it. A family is rated Direct fit when your answers point to it and your CV already shows it, Bridge when only one of the two is strong, and Stretch when neither is yet.

The AI reads your CV, tags your two written answers, adjusts the wording of some questions and writes the explanations. It never ranks anything, and code checks everything it writes before you see it.

The report does not include salaries, percentages, market statistics or tool prices, because the quiz cannot know them. Treat the result as a starting hypothesis to test, not a verdict on your career.

Questions about the career direction assessment

Is the career direction assessment free?

No. It is part of YAGO Pro (€19 a month). Your first 3 CV scans and your first scored interview answer are free.

Do I need a CV?

Yes. The quiz starts from a CV saved in CV Lab. If you do not have one yet, add it there first.

Is it a personality test?

It is closer to a structured conversation about your work. The questions ask what energises you, how you behave under pressure, which trade-offs you accept, what constraints you have and what you value, and your CV supplies the evidence.

Will it tell me which job to take?

It gives you three industry families and a few roles in each, rated Direct fit, Bridge or Stretch, and asks you to pick one direction to test for a week. The decision stays yours.

Can I take it again?

Once every 30 days. If you test a direction and record that it was not for you, you can retake it straight away.
